Empowering Youth & Women

The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Planning and Coordinating Agency (NEPAD Agency) and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP - EU (CTA) have joined forces in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).

They are jointly organising a Photo and Essay Contest which will run from March 27 to May 31, 2013. The Contest will focus on Youth, Women and Rural Agricultural Development. Photo entries will depict what NEPAD Agency and its partners are doing in empowering rural youth and women in agriculture. Cash and other prizes will be given out.

From Trash To Cash!

If you're from North Carolina, just pick up 10 pieces of trash in your local community and you could win a $5,000 scholarship.

Every 10 pieces you pick up is another chance to win.

Open to young people ages 16-24.

After removing the trash, each participant must report back to DoSomething.org detailing how much litter was collected, how many people were involved with them, the zip code of the clean­up location, and a before and after photo of the area cleaned. The winner will be chosen in a random drawing from all eligible entries.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is intended to create opportunities for children throughout the world to develop their interest in cars and help them feel the joy and importance of having a dream through drawing pictures of their dream cars.

To help children develop and express their creativity and to share dreams with them, Toyota has been holding the "Toyota Dream Car Art Contest" since 2004. The contest consists of 2 phases of process. First, top 3 winning artworks per age category are selected in the "Local Contest" in each country/region. Then, all selected winning artworks are also directly qualified to the "World Contest". With strict and fair judging in the "World Contest", award winning artworks will be selected. The award winners will be invited to Japan to attend the Award Ceremony in August 2013.

Local contest ends March 31st, 2013.
