.tv Webmercial Contest

There's a fantastic .tv webmercial contest going on. It is sponsored by VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world. VeriSign administers the rapidly growing .tv domain, which already is populated with media-rich destinations including fuse.tv, tnt.tv, we.tv, blip.tv, hollywood.tv and mlb.tv.

"If your Web site moves, it belongs on .tv," said Jill McNabb, director of Naming Services at VeriSign. "The Webmercial Contest gives aspiring video producers a shot at showing off their talents and ideas in a way that highlights the enormous potential of .tv. With four out of five U.S. Internet users regularly watching video online, it's clear the Web will never be the same. In fact, just as the Web we've used for years was built on .com and .net domains, the future of the Internet is now playing on .tv."Contest details:Contestants are free to use their imaginations to convey what a .tv world looks like. They can submit parodies, cartoons, musicals, testimonials, even plays. So long as they meet a couple contest guidelines – videos mustn't exceed 100MB or two minutes in length and they must incorporate the .tv logo – the possibilities are as limitless as the Web itself.**

Prize(s): Grand prize - Sony HDR-TG1 digital camcorder grand prize and (9) Flip Mino digital camcorders.

Judging Criteria: Best Webmercials (according to VeriSign) submitted win.

Winners will be notified by Dec 1, 2008.
